Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools clinches 4th position and best goalkeeper award in Portugal

Boys of the Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) arrived in New Delhi after their triumph at the Sesimbra Summer Cup in Portugal. The Under-11 team of BBFS finished fourth in the tournament after they reached the semifinals.

The five-day tournament saw young football players from India perform against the well established clubs from Portugal. The event showcased the prowess of grassroots development in football undertaken by the Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools. Teams in four different age categories arrived in the municipality of Sesimbra which is located in the southwest of the Setúbal Peninsula, part of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area in Portugal.

The youngest team of BBFS in the U-11 age category lived upto the expectations as they defeated other teams to move into the semifinals. They eventually finished with the 4th position and earned a Trophy Rating. The U-13 team fought a resilient challenge to finish 7th in their age group. Aryaman Ladha from the U-13 team was awarded the best goalkeeper prize for his heroics as he protected the goal from constant threats posed by the forward line of the opposition.

The U-14 team accomplished 6th place while the U-15 team finished in 5th position at the culmination of the Cup. Such participations give international exposure to players at a young age thus leading them to perform exceedingly well globally while representing the country in the future.

Speaking on the arrival with the teams, Kishore Taid, Director, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools was ecstatic after the achievement, he said, "It is the result of 4 years of hard work by the entire BBFS team and a validation of our methodology of training. We can do even better in the future - hope this gives belief to teams and players across the country that we can win matches and tournaments in Europe."
